Former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has announced his intention to contest for the Senate of Nigeria seat representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Peak Newspaper reports
Omo-Agege also declared support for the re-election bid of Bola Tinubu, stating that continuity in leadership would help sustain ongoing reforms and national development efforts across Nigeria.
The former lawmaker said his decision to return to the Senate is driven by the need to strengthen representation for Delta Central and advance legislative priorities that support economic growth and infrastructure development in the region.
Omo-Agege previously represented Delta Central in the Senate from 2015 to 2023 and served as Deputy Senate President during the 9th National Assembly.
Political observers say his declaration signals early positioning ahead of what is expected to be a competitive contest for Delta Central in 2027.
