Comrade Ojajuni Olusegun has formally declared his intention to contest for a seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly, seeking to represent Okitipupa Constituency I under the platform of African Action Congress (AAC), Peak Newspaper reports.
The declaration, held on Thursday at Ilutitun Osooro, drew a large turnout of stakeholders, including party leaders from Okitipupa Constituency I, religious leaders, traders, artisans, and representatives of the Hausa and Igbo communities, many of whom openly endorsed his candidacy.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Adelusi Samuel, State secretary of the party commended the growing support for Ojajuni’s ambition and praised the leadership of the party in the area.
He added that his experience and grassroots engagement make him a strong contender for the seat.
“Comrade Ojajuni a good product and we believe he is capable of representing us effectively,” he said, while also expressing gratitude for what he described as increasing political momentum within the constituency.
In his address, Comrade Ojajuni expressed appreciation for the endorsement, describing it as a reflection of collective trust and unity among stakeholders.
He said his ambition is driven by a desire to serve and advance the welfare of residents in the constituency.
“This is not just my ambition—it is a collective movement. With God’s guidance and your support, I will serve with diligence, integrity, and focus on the welfare of our people,” he said.
Also speaking, a youth representative Ilutitun said the widespread endorsement of Comrade Ojajuni’s cuts across various segments of the community, including traditional institutions, market groups, artisans, and youth organisations.
He added that Ojajuni’s consistent engagement with residents and responsiveness to local concerns have earned him credibility and trust, expressing confidence in his ability to build on existing developments in the constituency.
The event concluded with calls for unity among party members and stakeholders ahead of the forthcoming electoral contest.
