Hon. Momoh Yusuf Obaro, Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) UK chapter, has officially obtained the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the Kogi Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
Obaro’s move marks the formal commencement of his bid for the National Assembly, in what political observers describe as a strategic and early entry into the race.
His aspiration has already begun to attract support from party faithful and stakeholders across Kogi Central, many of whom have praised his experience, dedication, and vision for effective representation.
Reaffirming this growing momentum, the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard M. Doro, congratulated Obaro on becoming the first aspirant to pick the nomination forms for the district.
Dr. Doro, who hails from the North Central region, commended Obaro’s track record and contributions to the party, particularly in his role as APC UK Secretary.
“Chief, I know you can. You have demonstrated capacity as the APC UK Secretary, and your efforts and contributions have taken us far. I am confident in your ability to deliver the dividends of democracy to your people,” the Minister said.
He further expressed confidence in Obaro’s readiness for the Senate, noting that his candidacy reflects the values and vision of the APC UK branch.
“Chief Obaro, you are going to the Senate to showcase the big difference that we, the APC UK branch, stand for,” he added.
Dr. Doro also congratulated the people of Kogi Central Senatorial District and members of the APC UK chapter, describing Obaro’s aspiration as a positive development for the party and the region.
With his early move and backing from key stakeholders, Obaro’s senatorial ambition appears to be gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
