Vice-President Kashim Shettima has announced that the Federal Government of Nigeria plans to plant 20 billion trees in the upcoming rainy season.
This ambitious initiative is part of Nigeria’s national reforestation and environmental sustainability drive.
Shettima made this statement after touring agricultural and industrial facilities in Ethiopia, where he was particularly inspired by Ethiopia’s Green Legacy Initiative. He described the Ethiopian program as a “win-win for all,” highlighting its success in combining environmental restoration with job creation.
