President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to return to Nigeria today, April 21, 2025, after a two-week working visit to France and the United Kingdom.
During his time abroad, Tinubu engaged in strategic planning sessions to evaluate his administration’s mid-term performance and review ongoing reforms ahead of its second anniversary.
The presidency confirmed his return through a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, who assured Nigerians that Tinubu remained actively involved in governance throughout his trip.
While away, Tinubu maintained communication with senior government officials and issued directives on critical national matters, including security concerns.
His return comes amid criticism from opposition leaders regarding his extended absence, especially in light of recent security challenges in Plateau and Benue states.
Tinubu is expected to resume his duties at the State House in Abuja immediately upon arrival.
