Driver killed as soldiers repel kidnappers on Makurdi–Kura highway

A driver, Ochoche Otokolo Ekwu, was killed by a stray bullet after soldiers repelled an attempted kidnapping on the Makurdi–Kura highway in Benue State. Peak Newspaper reports that the attack occurred Wednesday evening as armed men targeted a bus ahead of engineers’ convoy. Security forces are pursuing the fleeing suspects.
