The House of Representatives Wednesday directed an investigation into the reported technical glitches surrounding the outcome of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The House also urged the federal government to establish Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in all the 774 local government areas across the country to ease access to examination centers by candidates.
The House arrived at the resolution, Thursday, following a motion of urgent public importance by Hon. Adewale Adebayo from Osun state.
The board had released the results of candidates who sat for the 2025 UTME on May 9, revealing an unusually high rate of failure, an issue the Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede admitted to some glitches, explaining that the results of 379,997 candidates were affected due to server issues.
Moving the motion, Adebayo said many candidates and their families endured long-distance travels to examination centers, only to face unexpected failures, calling for an investigation into the technical lapses to prevent future occurrences.
