President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to Benue State yesterday is a welcome gesture — a long-overdue sign that leadership must not be silent when citizens are in pain.

But as a concerned Nigerian, I must ask:
Will this visit lead to action, or will it become another headline that fades by next week?
Leadership Is Not About Presence — It’s About Protection
Benue has suffered too many tragedies.
Entire communities have been wiped out.
Farmers displaced. Children orphaned.
And what do they get in return?
Sympathy speeches
Political entourages
And promises that rarely materialize
We do not just need leaders to visit.
We need them to act.
As a Political Consultant, Here’s What I Believe Must Happen Next:
1. Immediate deployment of federal security reinforcements — not just military shows, but actionable protection for rural communities.
2. Transparent investigation and justice for the families of victims — impunity must end.
3. A national security and reconciliation strategy — this violence is not local, it is systemic.
4. Support for displaced citizens — rebuild lives, not just roads.
My Message to President Tinubu:
Sir, your visit to Benue was important. But what Nigeria needs more than a convoy is a commitment — a clear and measurable path to peace, justice, and protection for all Nigerians, regardless of tribe, region, or religion.
Because history will not remember who visited.
It will remember who acted.
