Nigerian opposition leaders, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, are currently meetings in Abuja to harmonise their position on the proposed amendments to the Electoral Act, Peak Newspaper reports.
Sources at the venue told Peak Newspaper that the high-level meeting is focused on reviewing key provisions of the new Electoral Act and developing a unified stance ahead of further legislative action.
Other prominent opposition figures and party stakeholders are also in attendance, as discussions reportedly centre on electoral transparency, electronic transmission of results, and the independence of the electoral umpire.
Details of the resolutions reached at the meeting are expected to be made public at the end of deliberations.
