Presidential aspirant Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has officially obtained the ₦100 million presidential expression of interest and nomination form of the African Democratic Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections, Peak Newspaper reports
Hayatu-Deen, a renowned economist and former banker, became the first aspirant to pick the party’s presidential nomination form during a presentation ceremony held at the ADC national secretariat in Abuja.
Speaking shortly after receiving the form from the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, Hayatu-Deen said the 2027 election must focus on restoring security, rebuilding the economy, creating jobs, and reducing the high cost of living affecting millions of Nigerians.
The presidential hopeful also pledged to unveil policies aimed at tackling insecurity, supporting businesses, expanding opportunities for young Nigerians, and reducing poverty across the country. He stated that Nigeria requires disciplined leadership and practical economic reforms capable of restoring public confidence and driving national development.
Hayatu-Deen further stated that he would abide by whatever mode of primary election the ADC leadership adopts, whether direct primaries or consensus, stressing that democracy should allow Nigerians to freely choose their leaders through credible electoral processes.
