The Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom, in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Rufus Olugboyega Akinrinmade, FCPA, FCNA, has extended warm and heartfelt felicitations to adherents of Christianity in Odigbo Town Odigbo Local Government Area, and across Ondo State on the occasion of the 2025 Christmas’ celebration, Peak Newspaper reports.
The revered monarch described Christmas as a season that symbolizes love, sacrifice, unity, and generosity, urging Christians to reflect these virtues in their daily lives for the collective good of the society.
In a statement personally signed by the monarch and made available to Peak Newspaper, Oba (Dr.) Rufus Olugboyega used the festive period to passionately call on all sons and daughters of Odigboland, both at home and in the diaspora, to embrace unity and togetherness as a catalyst for sustainable community growth and development.
According to the monarch, meaningful progress and the attainment of greater heights for the ancient town can only be achieved through a united front, mutual understanding, and shared commitment to the common good of the community.
“Christmas is a period that calls for love, unity in diversity, tolerance, and generosity, irrespective of religious, political, or social differences,” the Orunja noted, emphasizing that peace and cohesion remain indispensable tools for development.
Orunja further enjoined Christians and other residents of the community to use the Yuletide season to fervently pray for Odigbo Local Government, Ondo State, and Nigeria, the continued peace, stability, and prosperity of Odigboland.
In another vein, the royal father charged all indigenes to demonstrate patriotism, unwavering dedication, and renewed commitment to the development of the community, stressing the need for increased investment initiatives that would create opportunities and improve the wellbeing of the people.
He cautioned residents to celebrate responsibly and moderately, warning against acts of lawlessness, social vices, and other illicit activities capable of disrupting the peace and harmonious coexistence currently enjoyed in the community and its environs.
The monarch reiterated that unity, oneness, and collective responsibility remain non-negotiable prerequisites for the realization of Odigbo developmental aspirations.
