President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is arguably one of the best and finest politicians in the world. But here’s the truth, being a good politician doesn’t automatically make you a good leader.

In my book, Tinubu is a terrible leader, but one thing you can’t take away from him is this: he understands the game of politics better than anyone else in Nigeria today.

My respected elder brother, Wike, thought he was a grandmaster in politics until he met Tinubu and became a pawn. Jagaban knows how to use people, and he hates making direct enemies.

You can clearly see how he’s using my brother Wike in Abuja. Wike, being a power monger, doesn’t even realize he’s being played. He has stepped on almost every toe in the capital and is proud of it, forgetting that power is transient.

You see that gutter behavior Wike displayed yesterday? Tinubu, even as President and Commander-in-Chief, would never act that way.

He’d rather engage the appropriate authorities long before arriving at the scene. And if, for any reason, there was resistance, he’d send someone like Wike to handle it. He will never go there.

Politics is a dirty game, and these are the qualities that make a great politician, not necessarily a great leader.

Slowly, and right before our very eyes, Tinubu is turning Nigeria into a one-party system. In fact, anyone planning to contest against him in 2027 might just be wasting time and resources, because whether we like it or not, Tinubu will win.

Though I will vote for Mr. Peter Obi if he’s on the ballot, because his vision and values align with mine. But let’s leave the game of politics to Tinubu.
