The Osun State House of Assembly has rejected claims that it plans to introduce a rotational chairmanship for the Osun State Council of Obas, affirming that the Ooni of Ife remains the permanent chairman of the council, Peak Newspaper reports.
Speaker Adewale Egbedun described a widely circulated social media post suggesting a rotation plan as false and misleading, and said no letter or proposal on the matter was ever received, discussed, or approved by the legislature or its chieftaincy committee.
The clarification aims to dispel misinformation and reassure the public that traditional leadership structures in Osun State remain unchanged.
