Following the sudden resignation of the Ondo state House of Assembly Former Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Abayomi Akinruntan and the House Majority Leader, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, Rt, Hon Ololade Gbegudu, representing Okitipupa Constituency 2 has been replaced as the newly Deputy Speaker of the Ondo state House of Assembly.
A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo state, Deacon Adewale Akingboye has congratulated the new Ondo state House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon. Ololade Gbegudu.
Mr Akinruntan, who is from the same local government area with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, said his resignation from his position as the Ondo state House of Assembly Deputy Speaker stemmed from his regard for political power sharing in the state.
Mr Akinruntan, whose letter was read by the Clerk of the Assembly, Benjamin Jaiyeola, thanked the leadership of the legislative body for allowing him to serve in that capacity.
Speaking with Peak Newspaper Nigeria, Deacon Adewale described Hon. Ololade Gbegudu emergence as the new Ondo state House Assembly Deputy Speaker as a timely call for inclusivity, effective leadership and good governance.
He said “First, I commend the Ondo state House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Abayomi Akinruntan and the House Majority Leader, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi for their selflessness and tenacity towards a Progressive Ondo state. They have shown that leadership is not by occupying a position of power, but the capacity to lead and galvanize growth, development and progress from anywhere they are.
“I also want to congratulate Rt Hon. Ololade Gbegudu for his emergence as the new Deputy Speaker, Ondo state House of Assembly. His ascension to his new position is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the unity, growth and progress of Ondo state,” Deacon Adewale said.
