Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has finally spoken following the defection of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Omo-Agege, who contested and lost the 2023 governorship election to Oborevwori, has instructed all structures of the Delta APC to welcome the new entrants, including Oborevwori and former governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.
In a statement released on Sunday, Omo-Agege assured party members that the APC’s national leadership was actively managing the political realignment to protect the party’s interests in Delta State.
Prior to Oborevwori’s surprise defection last week, Omo-Agege had been one of the most vocal opponents of the governor’s overtures.
