In a remarkable display of leadership and commitment to community development, Elderly individuals in Odigbo constituency 2— the constituency comprising Araromi-Obu, Ayesan, Ago Alaye, Oniparaga and Koseru wards have expressed appreciation and prayers to Honourable Babatunde Fasonu, a Member of Ondo state House of Assembly, who recently distributed cash, food stuffs, clothes and other incentives to elderly constituents of his constituency, Odigbo 2, in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo state.
Peak Newspaper reports that the distribution was part of his administration’s food support program for the residents.
Earlier today, Hon Fasonu presented the elderly constituents with cash, food stuffs and other incentives held at his Residence in Araromi-Obu
During the presentation of incentives to elderly constituents of his constituency, Honourable Fasonu noted that his philanthropic gestures towards elderly constituents is a reflection of his genuine love and concern for old people and their well-being.
Fasonu maintained that “elderly individuals are an integral part of every society— their old age is a blessing; their knowledge is profound and their experience is invaluable. I believe that old people are usually marginalized in the sharing ratio of benefits, while in fact, their interest ought to be prioritized.
“Today, I have come to my constituency to distribute cash gift, food stuff, clothes and other incentives to my old constituents and I promise that I won’t relent in making our older people,” he said.
Appreciating Fasonu’s constituency project, which aims to provide for the needs of elderly constituents, the Vice Chairman of Ifesowapo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Rasheed Giwa, praised Fasonu for his commitment toward the growth, development and progress of Odigbo 2 constituency.
“It is always a beautiful moment to observe, whenever Fasonu returns home to empower his people. I am proud of him and believe that he is an exemplary leader, who is worthy to be emulated,” Giwa said.
Also, one of elderly constituents of Odigbo 2 constituency, who benefited from Hon. Fasonu’s philanthropic project for older people, appreciated and prayed for Fasonu.
“Nothing gives an old person joy, more than feeling valued, respected and cared for— that’s what Fasonu made us feel and we are proud of him,” she noted.
