As the ancient city of Odigbo prepares to celebrate the 2025 edition of the Ogun Festival, scheduled to hold on the 13th and 15th of September, 2025, the Executive Chairman of Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo state Honourable Taiwo Adegoroye has extended his warmest congratulations to HRM, Oba Dr. Rufus Olugbeyega Akinrinmade, FCNA, FCPA, the Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom and the entire people of the community, Peak Newspaper reports
Hon. Adegoroye, an illustrious son of Odigbo, described the Ogun Festival as a powerful symbol of cultural identity, unity, and pride for the people of Odigbo.
He commended the community—especially the youth—for their consistent embrace of peace and communal spirit.
“I felicitate with our revered Ondo monarch, Oba Dr. Rufus Olugbeyega Akinrinmade, FCNA, FCPA, Orunja of Odigbo Kingdom, and all sons and daughters of Odigbo as we celebrate the 2025 Ogun Festival. I am particularly proud of the young men and women who uphold peace and order, ensuring that the festival remains a joyful, memorable event for all”, he said.
The Ogun Festival stands as one of the most significant traditional events in Odigbo Kingdom, attracting both indigenes and guests in celebration of the town’s deep-rooted cultural heritage.
The Council boss also expressed appreciation to the custodian of the festival and members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the town for their usual cooperation and peaceful conduct during communal activities.
“The role of the NURTW in ensuring safety and order during festivals cannot be overstated. I commend their leadership and members for their steadfast commitment to peace,” he added.
Hon. Adegoroye prayed for a peaceful, successful, and enriching Ogun Festival, urging everyone to continue celebrating with respect, love, and responsibility.
“May this year’s celebration bring renewed blessings, unity, and prosperity to Odigbo and its great people,” he concluded.
