In a post on X, the former president accused Donald Trump of taking cancel culture “to a new and dangerous level” by using the threat of regulatory action to push networks to silence critics.
ABC pulled the late-night show after several affiliate stations refused to air it, triggering a political storm.
Trump welcomed the move, while Democrats, unions and Hollywood figures condemned it as an attack on free speech.
Obama warned that the suspension showed how government coercion can erode First Amendment protections, urging media executives to stand firm rather than bow to pressure.
