A group of northern youths has announced that it raised ₦200 million to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination form for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, Peak Newspaper reports.
The group said the move was driven by their support for Tinubu’s leadership and their belief in the continuity of his administration’s policies. According to them, the fundraising effort reflects growing youth backing for the president across the northern region.
They added that the funds would be formally presented through the appropriate party channels, describing the gesture as voluntary and symbolic rather than imposed.
The development comes amid early political positioning and endorsements ahead of the 2027 polls, despite repeated calls by some stakeholders for elected officials to focus on governance rather than campaigns.
