Northern Youths have set clear conditions for any support in the 2027 general election, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to act on governance and electoral concerns, Peak Newspaper reports.
Speaking for the group, Musa Anas called for the removal of the current INEC Chairman, alleging bias in the conduct of elections. “The INEC Chairman must be removed. His continued stay undermines public trust in the electoral process,” he said.
The group also demanded the suspension of the new tax laws, citing concerns over alleged alterations noted by both the National Assembly and the Tax Reforms Committee. “If there are issues even the National Assembly has acknowledged, Nigerians deserve full transparency,” Anas added.
Aligning with the Sharia Council, Northern Youths stressed the need for accountability and transparency in governance to restore public confidence ahead of the 2027 polls.
