The Federal High Court in Abuja has debunked claims that Justice James Omotosho narrowly escaped an assassination attempt after sentencing Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment.
In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by Chief Registrar Sulaiman Hassan, the court said it became aware of the allegation after it was circulated by a blog.
The court described the report as “entirely false and baseless,” stressing that it is “fake news” intentionally crafted to mislead the public and undermine trust in the judiciary.
“The public is urged to disregard this publication and stop sharing it to prevent further spread of misinformation,” the statement added.
