In the early hours of Today, unidentified gunmen armed with cutlasses and firearms launched an attack on the family home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the Obeiba-Ihima area of Okehi Local Government Area, Kogi State.
According to reports gathered by Peak Newspaper Nigeria from multiple sources, the Senator’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, informed security agencies that the attåck took place around 1:00 a.m.
At least three armed individuals were said to have been involved, causing damåge to the property, including smashing window panes.
A distress call prompted the rapid deployment of security operatives from the Okehi Division to the scene.
While no injurięs or fatalities were reported, and no suspects have been apprehended, authorities have secured the location and begun preliminary investigations.
Police sources indicate that the motive behind the attåck is still unclear, and inquiries are ongoing.
As of the time of this report, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, a key political figure representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has not released an official statement.
