A 25-year-old man, Hammed Usman Tunde, has reportedly been stabbed to death by his friend, identified as Gafar, following a dispute allegedly over a woman in Ilorin, Kwara State, Peak Newspaper reports.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Oja Gboro area, during an argument between the two friends while patronizing a sugarcane seller. Eyewitnesses said the altercation turned violent when 21-year-old Gafar allegedly stabbed Tunde in the chest with a knife.
Tunde, a resident of Ile-Soro 2 in Oja Gboro, was rushed to a nearby hospital before being referred to the General Hospital, Ilorin, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene, and efforts to trace him and his family have so far been unsuccessful.
Speaking during an interview with journalists, the deceased’s sister described her brother as peaceful and called on authorities to ensure justice.
Tunde buried according to Islamic rites at his family compound in Ilorin.
