Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC’) 2027 vice-presidential candidate has warned that creating state police could pose serious risks ahead of the 2027 elections, Peak Newspaper reports.
He argued that some governors may use state police for political advantage rather than public safety.
Kwankwaso also blamed the push for state police on leadership failures in Northern Nigeria and cautioned against the widespread circulation of small arms, urging the government to handle the issue carefully.
