The Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana-Zuru, and the party’s Chairman in Zuru Local Government Area, Hon. Aliyu Abubakar Abiola, Peak Newspaper reports.

The suspension was announced in a statement issued by the State Secretary of the party, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Kimba, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the action followed complaints from stakeholders within the Zuru Emirate, who alleged that the affected officials displayed a lukewarm attitude toward party activities, failed to adequately engage critical stakeholders, showed insufficient commitment to mobilization efforts and did not fully comply with established party procedures and principles.

The party explained that after conducting an internal review and investigation into the allegations, it resolved to suspend the two officials as part of disciplinary measures.

Following the decision, the APC said the Deputy State Chairman would assume leadership of the party in an acting capacity pending further directives, while the suspension of the Zuru Local Government Chairman takes immediate effect.

In a related development, the Kebbi State Government has suspended the Commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabir Usman Alaramma.

A statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, said the suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in force until further notice.

The government also directed the commissioner to hand over all official responsibilities and government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary of the ministry pending further action.
