Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has alleged that the current Kaduna administration paid ₦1 billion to bandits, claiming he has proofs, Peak Newspaper reports.
According to El-Rufai, the present government has not only been negotiating with criminal elements but also “paying bandits and apologizing to them.” He insists that these actions undermine security efforts and embolden the perpetrators of violence across the state.
El-Rufai further challenged the government to publicly deny the claim if it is untrue.
“If the governor or anyone disagrees, let them come out and deny it — we have the evidence and proof,” he stated.
This allegation, if proven, raises critical questions about the state’s approach to security, the use of public funds, and the broader implications for peace and stability in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
