A Pro-development group, the Concerned Akotogbo Youth, in Ondo state has decried worsening deplorable state of Akotogbo-Ijuosun road, begging the Governor of Ondo state, Lucky Aiyedatiwa to swiftly intervene and hasten the construction of the road.
The Concerned Akotogbo Youth group disclosed this in a statement Made available to Peak Newspaper Nigeria today and addressed to the Governor of Ondo state, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The group revealed that despite the approval by the government of Ondo state, to construct Akotogbo-Ijuosun road, the road project has continued to suffer an unprecedented delay, resulting in “accessibility problems, aggravating cost of living and economic activities in Akotogbo and neighbouring towns.”
“We, the Concerned Akotogbo Youth, respectfully bring to your notice the current state of the approved Akotogbo-Ijuosun road construction project. Despite reported approval, progress remains unsatisfactory. Only the first-grade layer has been laid, and two bridges,which remain incomplete, leaving the road in a worse condition than before,” Concerned Akotogbo Youth disclosed.
Appealing to Aiyedatiwa, the Concerned Akotogbo Youth said “We believe, Your Excellency, that you wouldn’t want the good people of Akotogbo-Ijuosun to endure such hardships
“Therefore, we humbly request and implore you, sir, to intervene and inspect, examine the project. Your personal intervention and attention would not only boost our confidence in your administration but also rekindle our hope and ensure the project’s timely completion, benefiting our community. We believe that with your leadership, we can look forward to a better future for Akotogbo-Ijuosun,” They pleaded.
