Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose, has publicly called on Nigerians to join a nationwide protest on Tuesday demanding the release of controversial activist VeryDarkMan (VDM). In a passionate social media post, Isaac declared:
Peak Newspaper Nigeria recalls that VeryDarkMan was arrested last week Friday shortly after he visited a branch of the Guarantee Trust Bank to complain about alleged unauthorised transactions from his mother’s account.
“If you don’t come out to protest against VDM’s arrest on Tuesday, you have no right to complain about Nigeria.” Isaac said
He emphasized that the protest is not just about VDM, but about the broader issue of injustice, oppression, and the silencing of voices in Nigeria. Fayose argued that VDM speaks for the common man and that his continued detention is a threat to freedom of expression in the country.
VeryDarkMan, known for his bold and often controversial commentary on social issues, was recently arrested — sparking widespread debate and concern among fans and rights advocates. Details around the charges remain unclear, but the call for protest is gaining traction online.
