The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that all 22 registered political parties in Nigeria have submitted their membership registers in compliance with the Electoral Act 2026 ahead of the 2027 general elections, Peak Newspaper reports.
INEC said the submission fulfills a key legal requirement for political parties as preparations gradually intensify for the next nationwide polls.
The electoral body noted that the development reflects compliance with provisions of the Electoral Act, which mandates registered parties to maintain and submit updated membership records to the commission.
