Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has pledged to personally cover the team’s bonuses for the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) if the Federal Government fails to pay before their quarter-final match.
Ndidi made the commitment while addressing concerns over delayed payments, stressing that financial issues must not distract the team from their goal of winning the tournament.
According to him, the players are fully focused on national pride and performance, adding that he is willing to step in to ensure team morale remains high ahead of the crucial fixture.
“We are here to represent Nigeria and give our best. Whatever happens off the pitch should not affect our performance,” Ndidi was quoted as saying.
The Super Eagles are set to face a tough test in the quarter-finals as Nigerians rally behind the team, hoping for a strong push toward continental glory.
