The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed that former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is currently in its custody.
In a statement issued by ICPC’s Head of Media and Public Communications, J. Okor Odey, the commission said El-Rufai was detained on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, as part of an ongoing investigation. While ICPC confirmed the detention, it did not disclose the specific nature of the probe.
This development comes shortly after El-Rufai was released on bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), only to be taken into custody again by ICPC.
