The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has commenced the tracking of 105 constituency projects executed by federal lawmakers in Kano State and Jigawa State.
The commission said the exercise is part of its ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and value for money in the implementation of constituency projects funded with public resources.
According to the ICPC, the monitoring will assess project locations, contract sums, execution status, and compliance with specifications, with a view to identifying abandoned, poorly executed, or non-existent projects.
The anti-graft agency noted that findings from the tracking exercise would guide further actions, including possible recovery of funds and prosecution where infractions are established. It also urged community members to cooperate with monitoring teams by providing relevant information to support the exercise.
