A military court in in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday convicted former President Joseph Kabila of treason and other charges, sentencing him to death.
Kabila, tried in absentia since July, faced accusations of treason, conspiracy, involvement in an insurrection, and supporting terrorism. Prosecutors had requested the death penalty.
