The defection of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been described as a major political boost for the ruling party in the state, Peak Newspaper reports.
According to Bayo Onanuga, the move significantly weakens the influence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Adamawa, long considered his political stronghold.
Onanuga noted that Fintiri’s decision reshapes the political equation ahead of future elections, giving the APC a stronger structure and wider grassroots support base in the state.
Political observers say the development could alter power dynamics in Adamawa and the broader North-East region.
