The Federal Government has suspended the proposed increase in registration fees for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations scheduled for 2027, Peak Newspaper reports.
The suspension, according to reports, will allow for wider consultations with relevant stakeholders before any decision is reached on the proposed fee adjustment.
The move comes amid concerns from parents, students, and education stakeholders over the potential impact of higher examination costs on families and candidates across the country.
