Federal Government on Friday launched the ECOWAS National Biometric Identity Card (ENBIC) to strengthen border control, curb irregular migration, and improve identity verification across West Africa.
The card can serve as a travel document within ECOWAS, reduces passport demand, and uses advanced biometrics to combat fraud and cross-border crime. Nigeria is the seventh ECOWAS country to adopt the system.
