The Federal Government has approved the commencement of commercial flight operations at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport.
The approval, conveyed by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, takes effect from October 4th, following the expiration of the airport’s earlier non-scheduled flight permit in December 2024.
In a letter to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, the NCAA confirmed that the airport met key regulatory and safety requirements after inspection conducted in June this year.
Governor Oyebanji described the approval as a major boost to the state’s economy, saying it would enhance agribusiness, tourism, commerce, and medical services.
He thanked President Bola Tinubu, former Governor Kayode Fayemi, Aare Afe Babalola, and members of the Airport Committee for their contributions to the project.
