The Executive Chairman, Odigbo Local Government, Honourable Taiwo Adegoroye has felicitated residents of the Council Area, Ondo State and Nigerians in general on the occasion of the 2025 Democracy Day Celebration, Peak Newspaper Nigeria reports.
The Council Boss, in his message called on Nigerians to maintain unity, faith, peace and progress which are the core values and motto of the country.
Hon. Adegoroye equally congratulated His Excellency, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the Executive Governor of the Ondo State as well as His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR on the special occasion of 26 years of returning to democratic rule.
The Chairman identified democracy as a catalyst for national integration and thanked Nigerians for their efforts towards the sustenance of democracy since 1999. The Chairman also appreciated the gains of Nigeria’s democracy which have impacted positively in the lives of the people.
He extolled the heroes of Nigeria’s democracy who made enormous sacrifices to ensure the enthronement of democracy in Nigeria. He thanked the Federal Government for setting aside a particular day to celebrate our democracy and its heroes. He said that the labours of these heroes will never be in vain.
In the spirit of the celebration, Hon. Adegoroye pledged to always uphold the tenets of true democracy.
