The Cross River chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu for second terms in office during the 2027 elections.

This decision emerged from a significant APC stakeholders’ meeting, organized by the Central Progressives Initiative in collaboration with the party’s central leadership, held in Ikom Local Government Area.

The meeting drew prominent figures, including Minister of State for Industry, John Owan-Enoh, former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Elvert Ayambem, and former deputy governor, Clement Ebri, alongside current and former state and national assembly members.

Senator Eteng Williams, representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, initiated the motion to endorse Tinubu and Otu, which received unanimous approval via a voice vote conducted by event chair, Clement Ebri.

Senator Williams asserted the unified support of his senatorial district’s people and leaders for Otu’s re-election, highlighting the governor’s significant developmental achievements and urging him to “do more.”

“The applause and support he receives are not just expressions of satisfaction but a clear message for him to continue delivering good governance,” Williams stated.

Speaker Ayambem described the central senatorial district as the “pillar of APC in Cross River,” emphasizing its strategic importance and political influence.

Minister Owan-Enoh echoed this sentiment, calling the district the “voice of Cross River politics” and declaring “no vacancy in 2027.”

Former Senate Leader Ndoma-Egba predicted a political “earthquake” extending to the presidency, affirming the principle of power rotation and Otu’s deserving second term.

Representing National Assembly members, Mike Etaba confirmed their full alignment with the endorsements.

Ambassador Soni Abang, a former PDP chairman, praised Tinubu’s reforms and Otu’s economic management, noting a 50 percent reduction in the state’s debt burden.

The six local government chairmen from the senatorial district and the Central Commissioners’ Forum, led by Commissioner Erasmus Ekpang, also voiced their endorsements, citing transformative leadership.

State APC Chairman Alphonsus Eba commended the central APC stakeholders for their unity and pledged the party’s unwavering commitment to continuity and development.
