Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he has no plans to retire yet, insisting he still feels strong and motivated to keep playing.
Speaking after receiving the Globe Prestige Award at the Portugal Football Globes ceremony, the 40-year-old Portugal captain said he remains focused on helping both Al Nassr and the national team, even though he’s aware his career is nearing its final stages.
“I want to keep playing for a few more years, not many… I’m still producing good things, helping my club and the national team. Why not continue? When I retire, I’ll leave fulfilled because I gave everything,” Ronaldo said.
“Right now, I’m enjoying the moment. I know I don’t have many years left, but the little time I do have, I’ll enjoy it to the fullest.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner added that he prefers to take things one day at a time, with his current focus on helping Portugal secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ronaldo will lead Portugal in their upcoming qualifiers against Ireland on October 11 and Hungary on October 14.
