President Bola Tinubu has called Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), the former Rivers State Administrator, to Aso Villa for an urgent meeting, Peak Newspaper reports.
Ibas arrived at the State House at about 5:50 p.m., amid growing interest in the federal government’s engagement with former state officials.
Also sighted at the villa around the same time were Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
While details of the closed-door meeting have not yet been disclosed, the simultaneous presence of the EFCC chairman and the finance minister suggests that the discussions may have focused on issues relating to financial accountability, investigations, or fiscal matters involving the state’s previous administration.
The development comes amid President Tinubu’s continued push to strengthen governance, curb corruption, and ensure greater transparency across all levels of government.
