Former Bayelsa State Governor and serving Senator, Seriake Dickson, is reportedly set to announce his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday, Peak Newspaper reports.
The NDC, a newly registered political party by INEC, is said to be gaining momentum in Bayelsa State following the recent defection of Governor Douye Diri from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sources indicate that Senator Dickson is backing the NDC as a platform to challenge the APC’s growing influence in the state.
Meanwhile, political watchers are also speculating that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi may be considering a move from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the NDC ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
If confirmed, the development could significantly reshape the political landscape ahead of the next general elections.
More details to follow as events unfold.
