BREAKING: Osun Police Command Gets New Commissioner Ahead of Governorship Election
The Nigeria Police Force has redeployed the Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Ibrahim Gotan, to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, on a special duty, Peak Newspaper reports.
Following the development, CP Samuel Erale, who was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police on July 1, 2026, and has been serving as Commissioner of Police, Communications Operations at the Force Headquarters, has been posted to Osun State.
CP Erale is expected to assume duty immediately and oversee policing and security operations ahead of the forthcoming Osun governorship election.
In the redeployment, CP Ibrahim Gotan will take over as Commissioner of Police, Communications Operations at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, in a direct swap of roles with CP Erale.
