BREAKING: Ondo New Commissioner of Police Assumes Office (PHOTO )
The new Commissioner of Police (CP) in Ondo State, CP Felix Ohagwu, assumed office on Monday in Akure, the state capital, with a pledge to live up to the expectations of the people in securing lives and property.
Peak Newspaper reports that CP Felix Ohagwu replaced Mr Adebowale Lawal as the 47th CP in Ondo State.
The new CP, while speaking during the exchange of baton, appreciated the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for counting him worthy of the position.
CP Felix reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating on the existing security architecture within Ondo State while prioritizing the protection of lives and property.
He assured residents that the Command under his leadership would remain resolute in combating crime and criminality through proactive policing strategies, robust intelligence gathering, community engagement, strategic partnerships and sustained collaboration with other security agencies and relevant stakeholders.
The Commissioner of Police further stated that under his watch, the Command would uphold transparency, accountability, respect for Human Rights, professionalism, and a corruption-free policing system in the discharge of its constitutional responsibilities.
He emphasized that officers and men of the Command would continue to be guided by the principles of integrity, respect for human rights, ethical conduct, and quality service delivery in line with global best practices in policing.
CP Felix who called on major stakeholders for support, appreciated the outgoing CP for his efforts at reducing crimes to a minimum in the state
Earlier, Mr Lawal, the outgoing CP, appreciated the IGP for logistics and technical support during his tenure.
Mr Lawal also thanked the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, journalists and other stakeholders for their support and appealed to them to replicate the same to his successor
