A grassroots youth group in Odigbo Constituency II of Ondo State has rejected the political ambition of a female aspirant, Atoyebi Aderonke, who is seeking to represent the constituency in the Ondo State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peak Newspaper reports.

Speaking with Newsmen in Akure, Ondo State, on Tuesday, the group described her aspiration as a “daylight politician” alleging that Atoyebi Aderonke is not an indigene of Odigbo Constituency II.

The group further claimed that the aspirant hails from the Ifedore area of Ondo State, arguing that this makes her ineligible to represent Odigbo Constituency II in the State House of Assembly.

In addition, the youth group alleged that Atoyebi is not a registered member of the APC in Araromi-Obu, raising concerns about her political legitimacy within the constituency.

The group therefore called on key stakeholders—including the Ajobu-in-Council, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the Chairman of Odigbo Local Government, Hon Taiwo Adegoroye and other relevant authorities—to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

Despite its stance, the group reaffirmed its commitment to the growth and development of Odigbo Local Government and Ondo State at large, noting that its rejection of Atoyebi Aderonke’s candidacy is driven by the need to uphold transparency, fairness, and respect for the constituency’s heritage.
