The African Action Congress (AAC) has condemned a statement issued by the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over strong stance against the 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, recent criticisms of President Bola Tinubu and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, Peak Newspaper reports.
Recall that Rivers APC urges FG to take firm action against Sowore over attacks on Tinubu, Wike.
In a reaction on thursday, the AAC National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Femi Adeyeye in a press statement made available to Peak Newspaper
The Press statement read :The African Action Congress, AAC, views the unfortunate statement authored by the Rivers State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Tony Nwokocha condemning Comrade Omoyele Sowore whom they couldn’t spell his name correctly – a pointer to their ineptitude, is a laughable attempt to deflect attention from the corrupt practices that an ailing fourth estate of the realm has struggled to point out to the populace.
This is a continuation of knee jerk reactions for the APC which has failed woefully in its decade-long promise to tackle corruption, instead choosing to protect and enable corrupt individuals like the Minister of the FCT, Mr. Nyesom Wike.
Nigerians know that Sowore’s criticism of Mr. Wike which Mr. Nwokocha is hoping to cash out from, is rooted in a lifelong commitment to fighting corruption and promoting transparency and the APC’s statement is an attempt to delay judgement day for a party that has meted untold suffering and hardship on the people!
Indeed, Nigerians will continue to hold the APC accountable for its inhumane actions, policies, programs,and projects. Also their attempts to silence Sowore and other dissenting voices will only hasten the APC’s and Tinubu’s downfall – a welcomed development for the suffering masses.
