The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has condemned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent visit to the Argungu festival, describing it as insensitive given the worsening security situation in Kwara State.
In a statement, the party highlighted growing terrorist activity and recent abductions in the state, arguing that the President’s trip failed to acknowledge the plight of affected communities. The ADC urged the federal government to prioritise immediate action against banditry and insecurity over ceremonial engagements.
Security analysts have warned that northern and central states continue to face escalating attacks by armed groups, making localised security lapses a persistent national concern.
