President Bola Tinubu has prioritised the $25bn Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline project, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim said at the African Parliament Union in Casablanca, Peak Newspaper Nigeria reports.
The 5,660km pipeline, expected to transport 30 billion cubic metres of gas annually through 13 African countries, aims to boost regional development and job creation.
Senator Ibrahim urged Morocco to ease visa restrictions for Nigerians, citing mutual economic benefits. The project is currently in its feasibility phase, with final investment decisions expected in 2025.
