Former Edo State governor and senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has disclosed that he is seeking another four-year term in the Senate, describing his re-election bid as a renewal of his mandate from the people of Edo State, Peak Newspaper reports.
Oshiomhole made the remark during an interview with TVC News on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, while discussing the political developments surrounding the 2027 election and the ongoing debate over cooperation among political parties.
Speaking about the political situation in his home state, Oshiomhole said his focus was also on his own senatorial contest, alongside his responsibilities as a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
He urged the people of Edo to take note of his candidacy as he seeks to continue representing Edo North in the National Assembly.
“I want Edo people to realize that I am also seeking renewal of my four-year contract for another four years,” Oshiomhole said.
The senator made the statement while explaining that the 2027 election would involve contests at different levels, with candidates seeking the support of voters for presidential, senatorial, governorship and other legislative positions.
Oshiomhole’s comment places his senatorial re-election bid within the wider political activities ahead of the 2027 general election, as he combines his campaign responsibilities for President Bola Tinubu with his own contest to retain his seat in the Senate.
His reference to a “four-year contract” framed his senatorial mandate as one that ultimately depends on the decision of voters in Edo North at the next election.
