A brilliant news anchor, reporter, and producer with ARISE TV News Channel, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, has died.

Popularly known as Sommie, the 29-year-old broadcaster was tragically killed during an armed robbery attack at her residence in Katampe, Abuja, in the early hours of today.

The Nigeria Police have confirmed the incident and has launched a full-scale investigation to track down those responsible for the heartbreaking crime.

Maduagwu was a trained lawyer who transitioned into broadcast journalism, where she quickly made her mark as one of Nigeria’s most vibrant on-air talents.
